Description

Ariadne was a daughter of king Minos, put in charge of the labirynth and her half-brother Minotaur. When Theseus arrived at Crete with other young men and women destined to be eaten alive by the beast, Ariadne instantly fell in love with him and gave him a sword to kill the Minotaur and a ball of string to get out of the labirynth. Theseus promised to marry her afterwards, but he left her on Naxos instead. There she was later found by Dionysus and became his wife.

Some reaserchers speculate she was a Minoan vegetation goddess connected with Dionysus/Zagreus. Because of that I decided to put her in Minoan clothing. She carries her inonic ball of string and a snake - symbol of priestess/goddess in Minoan culture. And yes, her beasts were supposed to uncovered, it's how Minoan women looked like according to the wall paintings. Her skin should probably be a lot darker, but let's just assume she spends a lot of time in the labirynth :).
